An interesting discussion took place at the BoE meeting on March 21, 2012 where several of the board members questioned the overall spending figure for gross expenditures. It looks like the real “cost to the Granby taxpayer” figure is 2+% not %1 as the Board Chair is trying to sell. Here is a ten minute audio clip of that exchange. 
Is Heminway trying to mislead us? Is the Board of Finance trying to mislead us? You decide.
It appears that there also may have been a 1% increase in the current BoE budget which was reported as a 0% flat budget.
I would also like to point out that the original question was posed to Superintendent of Schools Alan Addley. The discussion goes on for six minutes before he says a single word. I don’t believe that Addley is the person who is actually running the school system. Who is that man behind the curtain?
